Burton AK Continuum Fuse Mitt - Men's

Product Description:

There's nothing else like the AK Continuum Fuse Mitt. This is the only welded mitt on the market. Leave it to Burton's AK line to come out with something that no one else has. There are no sewn seams on these high-tech mittens. All of the seams are welded to ensure maximum protection from the elements. Add to that the Continuum design that reduces seams in the first place and you have a pair of hand-warmers that protect like none other. Three-layer Storm-lite 5.0 blocks water and snow from getting in and lets sweat escape so your hands stay warm and dry. A thick Polartec fleece liner has a pocket for a heater pack for those extra cold days. Inside of that you get a Powerstretch AK glove that lets you adjust your bindings or start the car without exposing your hands to the cold.

Bottom Line: Get your hands on the only mitts of their kind.

"Don't buy these!"

I bought these, used them for one weekend and the material on the palms was crumbling off. Returned them, got another pair, same thing. Mind you, I used them for skiing, not snowboarding and I think it was the poles that made them crumble.

Good mittensfairly warm. A bit odd that there are two pairs of gloves inside the mittseparating the fingers into gloves kind of defeats the purpose of mittens, so sometimes my fingers get cold. Plus, they can be a pain to put on because of all those layers. The pocket for the hand warmers is on the back of the outside glove, down at the back of the hand, which is not where the heat is needed. Someday someone will make a mitten with mitten liners and the warmer pocket down by the fingers. Until then, these are pretty good.

"Same here"

The leather in the palms cracked horribly on the first day, and the leather seems to be of very poor quality. The welded seams also delaminated after one day of skiing (just holding the poles, not grabbing of edges or anything else).

"Defective and expensive"

These gloves fell apart after one day of riding in mild conditions. The palm's material seems to be a bad design, even replacement mittens are starting to wear after 3 days. I am by no means tough on my gloves, which makes their poor structure hard to believe. This place was extremely cool for refunding me the duckets for these less than average mittens. Great concept with some serious design flaws. The cinch's plastic is sown on the mitten very poorly, which also broke within two days of use. I would recommend a lesser pair, even though the waterproofness and breathability of these mittens are awesome. Good luck, keep the feedback loop rolling so that we all can get the personal touch on shopped items.

I had the exact same problem as the previous reviewer. On their first day out, the palm of the mitts basically 'shattered' for lack of a better way to describe it. After this happened, water and air could pass freely through the shell. However, this site processed my return very promptly, no questions asked (thanks!). The Black Diamond Mercury Mitts are a good alternative to these.
