On the way home from Brazil I stop in Danbury Connecticut for my sister's wedding. The countryside was beautiful and made a perfect backdrop for a fall wedding.

I’m just climbing down the stairs of a little forty seater after landing in Maceio, Brazil. I have been on a plane or in airports for over 23 hours. I am tired and cranky. The airport is small. I just came from Salt Lake City, Utah so the humidity is killing me. I am lucky because it is September and between seasons. The weather is hot and humid but not unbearable.

Wake up call. It’s 4am. I haven’t slept much, but in a hut full of people snoring, condensation dripping, rain pouring, and thunder clashing- not many people do. The stove is on and water is boiling. Everyone is working so efficiently as if everything is routine. For me however it is quite different.
